The Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce (HPCC) is a dynamic and thriving organization dedicated to supporting local businesses and fostering a strong sense of community in the vibrant neighborhood of Hyde Park, Chicago. Through various events, programs, networking opportunities, and strategic partnerships, the HPCC plays a crucial role in promoting economic development and enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.

 

Chamber Check-In: Networking and Community Building

One regular event organized by the HPCC is the Chamber Check-In. This is a series of monthly gatherings designed to bring together local businesses, organizations, and community members to network and share information. The July Chamber Check-In is scheduled for July 6th, 2021, at The Study, and interested participants can register for the event on the HPCC website. Chamber Check-In is free for Chamber members and members of the host organization, while a $25 fee applies for non-member organizations.

 

Welcoming New Leadership: Caprice Lindsay and Bennie Currie

The HPCC recently announced the installment of new officers to its board. Caprice Lindsay of Hyde Park Bank has been elected as the board president, and Bennie Currie of MBC Financial Strategies has been elected as the vice-president. Both Lindsay and Currie bring extensive experience and strong commitment to community service to their respective roles.

 

Caprice Lindsay: Champion for Small Businesses and Families

Lindsay, the Business Development Officer and Business Booster of of Hyde Park Bank, has more than 20 years of retail and commercial banking experience. As a South Shore resident and active community member, she advocates for small businesses and families, offering financial awareness resources and partnering with local for-profit and non-profit organizations. Lindsay also serves on the board of trustee for Sunshine Enterprise and Black Women Professional League, helping numerous local business owners.

 

Bennie Currie: Dedicated Community Volunteer and Business Leader

Currie, the owner of MBC Financial Strategies and a certified practitioner of the Macro Asset Perspective®, has been a dedicated community volunteer since moving to Hyde Park from St. Louis 32 years ago. His involvement in the neighborhood includes co-chairing the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club board of directors and founding CollaBOOration, an initiative aimed at promoting community building and safety during Halloween. Furthermore, Currie chairs Go 4th Hyde Park, an advisory council established by 4th Ward Alderman Sophia King, and serves on the 4th on 53rd Parade and Picnic.
